This program offers a new approach to economic growth that focuses on expanding a country’s set of productive capabilities and expressing them in a more diverse and complex set of products. Contrary to a commonly held belief, as countries become more developed, their citizens and firms specialize, but the national, regional, and metropolitan economies actually diversify. 该 opportunities for diversification are strongly affected by the initial set of productive capabilities, which makes each situation different.
