Functional Structures of US State Governments

An understanding of modern government is limited by a lack of comprehensive, reliable, comparable data. A research collaboration involving Stephen Kosack, Michele Coscia, Evann Smith, Kim Albrecht, Albert-László Barabási, and Ricardo Hausmann generated a new way of empirically mapping the functional structures of governments. The work is published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States (PNAS).
